Thomas Beatie

In 2007, Thomas Beatie made history by becoming the first fully documented transexual male to become pregnant. After undergoing gender reassignment surgery years prior, Beatie decided to become pregnant through artificial insemination after his wife was not able to bear children. Beatie became an icon in the trans community — shining a new light on the issues of trans and gender expression.
